Isaac's Luck

Today I got a call from Isaac's preschool teacher telling me that Isaac had fallen and cut his eyebrow. I was already headed in that direction (I pick Devin up from Kindergarted on my way to pick Isaac up from preschool) I had to force my self not to drive way too fast on the way. All I could do was pray that he would be comforted until I got there. Well he was fine when I got there he didn't want me to take off the bandage (not because it hurt so much but because he wanted to keep the little curious george on). When I did look at it it was pretty bad. I decided to take him to the clinic instead of the ER. (I am sick of going to the ER, I think we have been there more than our share lately and it is so expensive and you ussually have to wait and wait). Well they got us right in which was wonderful and then the doctor looked at it and said it was superficial and glue would fix him right up. He proceeded to glue it back together nicely and what do you know he glued his latex glove to his eyelid. He pulled to get it off and in the process completely separated the cut it was wide open. I wanted to yell at the doctor, but I didn't say anything just held Isaac's hand like a good mommy would I didn't want to make it worse. So now he had to glue it together again which by this point it probably needed stitches but I was glad when he was done. Isaac just wanted to go home and watch his power rangers. He didn't even cry when it happened but when they cleaned it with alcohol he was hating life. I cannot imagine anything worse than seeing your child in pain. I am glad that all three of my little ones are off to dreamland, now maybe I can get some rest too before they wake up and it all starts over again. Last saturday Ryan pick Isaac up off the couch and he just started crying that his arm hurt within a couple minutes Ryan and I realized that it was another nurse made elbow (we learned all about them at our last visit to the ER) The ER doctor actually taught us how to put it back into place that we were grateful for I think this has happened 4 times now. After having a prayer Ryan was able to put it back in no problem. It wasn't painless but just like at the hospital within a few minutes he was back to normal, pain free full mobility. He was sitting on my lap and all of a sudden he just started wiggling his arm all over, that made me very happy. So in Isaacs short 4 years he has had a broken leg, 4 nurse made elbows and now a gash glued shut. I am so glad that Devin hasn't had this kind of luck and knock on wood for little Grace. You would think it would really hurt from the picture but he was actually pulling that cute sad face because I made him stand there and get a picture before he could go play with his brother and friends.

  1. Hey Tabitha! I am so glad you have a blog! :) Your family so so sweet! I am sad to hear about Issac - he sounds like he is a tough boy though!
